Farage delivers damning speech to Europe on ‘greatest betrayal in our nation’s history’

 

NIGEL FARAGE warned the Brexit withdrawal treaty is a “slow motion betrayal” of the 2016 referendum in which 17.4 million Britons voted to leave the European Union.

The prominent Brexiteer said Britain faced a “national humiliation” last week when Prime Minister Theresa May pleaded with EU leaders to extend the Article 50 process. Speaking to MEPs in the European Parliament on Wednesday, Mr Farage said: “I thought what happened at the summit last week was a national humiliation, an impasse because we have Mrs May, a Prime Minister who hasn’t got the courage or who haven’t got the vision to carry out her many repeated promises. Namely, to take us out of the European Union this Friday. March 29 is not happening.

“We have a reparations bill of £39billion we have to pay for nothing in return.

“We have the annexation of a part of our national territory in the shape of Northern Ireland. This treaty is a bad piece. It is unacceptable. Read more
